5-Year Warranty

This limited Warranty applies to all physical goods (product/s) purchased from the company PREMIUM DEHYDRATORS PTY LTD, operating as Benchfoods, unless a country-specific warranty certificate applies.

WARRANTY PROVIDER:

This warranty is provided by PREMIUM DEHYDRATORS PTY LTD trading as Benchfoods, or by the Benchfoods entity, authorized distributor, service partner or local representative identified for your country or region in the Regional Warranty Provider and Claim Details section of this warranty.
Warranty claims should be sent to the claim contact listed for the country or region where the product was purchased.

IMPORTANT LEGAL RIGHTS NOTICE:

This Limited Warranty gives you specific contractual warranty benefits from Benchfoods.
You may also have statutory rights under the consumer protection laws of the country, state, province, territory or region where you purchased the product. Nothing in this Limited Warranty limits, excludes, restricts or replaces any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded, restricted or replaced under applicable law.
Please refer to the Country/Region Legal Addendum in section 8 of this warranty for information relevant to your country or region.

1. WHAT DOES THIS WARRANTY COVER?

This limited warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal commercial & domestic use during the warranty Period. During the warranty period, Benchfoods will provide the applicable remedy for products or parts of products that prove defective under normal commercial use, in accordance with this warranty.

2. WHAT WILL WE DO TO CORRECT PROBLEMS?

Benchfoods will action one of the following scenarios based on the defect and the product purchased;
1. Send a brand-new replacement of the defective product.
*Does not apply for industrial orders

2. If the defective part of the product is already identified, Benchfoods will ship the approved replacement part to the service address. Installation, technician, electrician, call-out and service costs will be handled in accordance with the technician contribution limits and reimbursement process.

3. Where the defect or issue needs to be inspected or repaired onsite, the customer will source a suitably qualified local appliance repair technician or electrician to inspect, repair and/or provide a repair quote where required under this warranty.

For Domestic and Commercial dehydrators, Benchfoods will reimburse the customer for eligible technician, electrician, inspection, repair, call-out, installation or service costs incurred in relation to an approved warranty claim, up to a maximum of 10% of the original purchase price of the product, including applicable taxes.
To claim reimbursement, the customer must provide Benchfoods with a valid invoice or receipt showing the work carried out and the amount paid or payable. Benchfoods will review the invoice or receipt to confirm that the work relates to an approved warranty claim. If approved, Benchfoods will reimburse the eligible amount up to the applicable 10% technician contribution limit.

For Industrial dehydrators, Benchfoods will cover approved reasonable technician or electrician costs for an approved warranty claim, where those costs have been approved by Benchfoods in writing before the work is carried out, where reasonably possible. The customer will source their own suitably qualified local appliance repair technician or electrician to inspect or repair the product and/or install replacement parts.

If the customer requests that Benchfoods arrange for a Benchfoods technician to attend the service address, and Benchfoods agrees to do so, a Benchfoods technician call-out fee of $2,500 including any applicable taxes, will apply. This call-out fee applies only to a customer-requested Benchfoods technician attendance and does not apply where the customer uses their own approved suitably qualified technician or electrician.

For Industrial dehydrators, if the quote is approved, the customer may arrange for the approved technician or electrician to proceed with the inspection, repair, installation or service work. Where replacement parts are required, Benchfoods will supply the approved replacement parts and the customer will arrange installation by the approved technician or electrician.

For approved warranty claims, Benchfoods will pay the approved invoice directly or reimburse the customer if the approved invoice has already been paid.

Benchfoods is not responsible for technician, electrician, inspection, repair, call-out, installation or service costs incurred without prior written approval, except where obtaining prior approval was not reasonably possible and the costs were reasonable and necessary in the circumstances.

Nothing in this warranty limits, excludes or replaces any rights or remedies the customer may have under applicable law found in section 8 of this warranty certificate.

3. HOW LONG DOES THE COVERAGE LAST?

The Warranty Period for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Dehydrators, as well as their accessories, is 5 years from the original date of purchase.

Individual dehydrator parts purchased separately are not covered by warranty unless they are received through a warranty claim on a previously purchased product.

A replacement product or replacement part provided under a warranty claim assumes the remaining warranty of the original product, or 180 days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer. Spare parts purchased outside of a warranty claim are not eligible for warranty coverage.

4. WHAT DOES THIS WARRANTY NOT COVER?

This limited warranty does not cover defects, damage or malfunction caused by misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, failure to follow operating instructions, or use with equipment with which the product is not intended to be used.

This warranty does not cover cosmetic damage or incidental damage, except where coverage is required under applicable law. This warranty will also not apply to damage caused by unauthorized alteration, modification or repair of the product.

5. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?

To make a claim under this limited warranty, the customer must contact Benchfoods within the Warranty Period using one of the claim methods found in section 7 of this warranty document. Benchfoods’ preferred claim method is email.
When making a claim, the customer should provide the following information:

- Proof of purchase or invoice number;
- Product model and serial number, if applicable;
- Delivery or service address;
- A clear description of the defect or issue;
- Photos, videos or other evidence of the defect where reasonably requested by Benchfoods; and any other information reasonably required by Benchfoods to assess the claim.

Benchfoods will assess the claim and advise the customer whether the product will be repaired, replaced, inspected by a technician, supplied with replacement parts, or otherwise handled in accordance with this warranty.

6. COSTS OF MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM

The customer is responsible for contacting Benchfoods and providing the claim information listed above.

For an approved claim under this limited warranty, Benchfoods will supply approved replacement part/s at no charge during the warranty period.

Technician, electrician, inspection, repair, call-out, installation and service costs are handled in accordance with Section 2 of this warranty, including any approved technician contribution limits that apply to the relevant product type.

If Benchfoods asks the customer to incur an expense in relation to an approved warranty claim, or agrees in writing to cover an expense, the customer must obtain Benchfoods’ prior approval where reasonably possible and provide a valid tax invoice or receipt. Where reimbursement is approved, Benchfoods will reimburse the customer for reasonable approved expenses by bank transfer within 14 business days after receiving the required documentation. Benchfoods is not responsible for costs incurred without prior written approval, except where obtaining prior approval was not reasonably possible and the costs were reasonable and necessary in the circumstances.

Nothing in this warranty limits, excludes or replaces any rights or remedies the customer may have under applicable law found in section 8 of this warranty certificate.

The country/region legal addendum forms part of this warranty. Please refer to the applicable section for the country or region where the product was purchased.

AUSTRALIA LEGAL ADDENDUM:
This Australia Legal Addendum applies to products purchased in Australia.

This Limited Warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies you, the customer, may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits provided to you under this Limited Warranty are in addition to, and do not limit, exclude or replace, any other rights and remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law in relation to the goods or services to which this warranty relates.

This United States Legal Addendum applies to products purchased in the United States.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

This Limited Warranty is a written limited warranty provided by Benchfoods for the product. It is not intended to be, and should not be interpreted as, a “full warranty” under United States warranty law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this Limited Warranty sets out the express written warranty provided by Benchfoods for the product. Any implied warranties that cannot be excluded, restricted or limited under applicable law are not excluded, restricted or limited by this Limited Warranty.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so certain limitations or exclusions in this Limited Warranty may not apply to you.

Depending on where you purchased the product and whether you are a consumer under applicable law, you may have statutory, legal or implied rights relating to the quality, fitness, durability, description, performance, repairability or availability of replacement parts and repair services for goods.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty limits, excludes, restricts or replaces any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded, restricted or replaced under applicable Canadian federal, provincial or territorial law.

Benchfoods will not make any warranty or guarantee representation unless there is a reasonable basis for that representation and a reasonable prospect that it will be carried out.

Quebec Notice

For products purchased in Quebec, this Limited Warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, the Civil Code of Quebec, the Charter of the French Language, or any other applicable Quebec law.

In Quebec, goods may be covered by legal warranties that apply automatically by law. These legal warranties may include protections relating to quality, durability, safety, hidden defects, fitness for ordinary use, and conformity with representations made about the goods.

Where applicable, Quebec law may also require merchants or manufacturers to make available replacement parts, repair services and information necessary to maintain or repair goods for the period required by law.

The benefits provided under this Limited Warranty are in addition to, and do not limit, exclude, restrict or replace, any legal warranty, statutory right or remedy available to you under Quebec law.

EUROPEAN UNION LEGAL ADDENDUM:
This European Union Legal Addendum applies to products purchased in a Member State of the European Union.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific contractual warranty benefits from Benchfoods. You may also have additional rights and remedies under applicable European Union law and the consumer protection laws of the Member State where you purchased the product.
If you are a consumer under applicable European Union or Member State law, the seller may be liable to you under the legal guarantee of conformity where the goods do not conform with the sales contract. This legal guarantee applies independently from this Limited Warranty.

Where Benchfoods is the seller of the product to a consumer in the European Union, Benchfoods is responsible for any legal guarantee obligations that apply to the seller under applicable European Union law and the national law of the Member State where the product was purchased.

Under European Union law, consumers are generally entitled to a minimum two-year legal guarantee of conformity for goods. Some Member States may provide longer periods or additional rights under national law.

During the applicable legal guarantee period, if the product does not conform with the sales contract and the customer is entitled to a remedy under applicable European Union or Member State law, Benchfoods will provide the remedy required by law. This may include repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or another remedy required by applicable law.

Where repair or replacement is required under the legal guarantee of conformity, Benchfoods will provide that remedy free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the customer, as required by applicable law.

After the applicable legal guarantee period, or where a claim is made only under Benchfoods’ voluntary Limited Warranty and not under a non-excludable legal guarantee or statutory remedy, Benchfoods’ technician contribution limits, approval process and warranty conditions apply as set out in this Limited Warranty.

The benefits provided under this Limited Warranty are in addition to, and do not limit, exclude, restrict or replace, any legal guarantee, statutory right or remedy available to you under applicable European Union or Member State law.

Any technician contribution limit, repair cost cap, prior approval requirement, reimbursement limit or similar cost limitation in this Limited Warranty applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

It does not limit, exclude, restrict or replace any legal guarantee right or statutory remedy that the customer has against Benchfoods as the seller.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty limits, excludes, restricts or replaces any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded, restricted or replaced under applicable European Union or Member State law.

If any terms advertised or communicated by Benchfoods in relation to this Limited Warranty are more favourable to you than the terms set out in this warranty certificate, the more favourable terms will apply where required by applicable law.

The 16 Tray Unit checks all the boxes
I have been searching the internet for a while, trying to find a larger, cost effective dehydrator for our small batch beef jerky business. Most of the other units in the 10 to 20 tray range don't hit a high temperature of 160 F and so a separate kill step with an oven is "required" for making safe beef jerky according to USDA. The 16 -CUD exceeds 190 F and checks all the boxes for that. The 190F also helps with the Come Up Time on the jerky, because 16 trays of meat fresh out of the refrigerator drops the temperature considerably.... a lesser brand would take much longer to get meat to a safe range for dehydrating. Fahrenheit and Celsius is a big plus for versatility. The good thing about the rack design is that food can be brought right to the edge of the tray, because the tray sits on a bracket. Some of the other brands that I have used, slide into a slot and you have to account for the groove or the food will be pushed off. The downside of the rack with trays sitting on top, is that the trays will not hold if you pull it half way out to check your food. The trays could be of a thicker gauge and more gaps in the screen. It would make the screens more durable and easy to clean. The double walled unit is great and it doesn't get too hot. It is relatively quiet compared to other units. The outer case is stainless steel and isn't magnetic. One of my other brands says it is stainless steel, but must use a cheaper mix of metal, because a magnet will attach. Shipping was great. Came within a week in a wood crate. Customer service is great and I will recommend the business and dehydrators to anyone in the market for one.
